I've been hard at work trying to setup the site/forum and packing stuff around the house still. Anyways, figured I'd inform you guys on the features so far.

You may have noticed that there is a new home page, which is the portal. From it you'll see that you can now invite friends via various services (only setup email, twitter, and facebook so far.) I'm hoping the friend inviter thing will prove to be useful later as more people register on ServUO.

Two of my favorite new features is the Live Thread feature, and the auto save drafts feature. The way Live Threads work are simple, all new threads are a "live thread" at first. Once it's inactive long enough, it will go back to the old style and not be a live thread again unless it gets active again.

What a Live Thread does is pretty simple. It will poll the thread in the background for any new posts. If you're typing out a reply or just viewing the thread and someone makes a new post, you'll see it almost right away. No reloading the page.

The auto save draft feature works in the background. If you're typing out a thread and the browser closes/you change your page...normally you'd lose all that you typed (unless you're one of the few weirdos that type all their stuff in Notepad.) With this addon, the text will be restored when you revisit the page. This works for multiple pages, so you could indeed have multiple drafts for different threads.

Other then that, I've done a few minor changes here and there. Such as the new login overlay, instead of the old drop down style, the new online status indicator, and a few other minor things. Expect more changes coming soon, also expect the first ServUO publish here soon.
As you may have noticed, I have just purchased XenForo and begun setting things up here. I've imported the old forum's database so all the old users and forums will exist here. I'll be removing the old forum now also, as it's no longer needed.

I ask members to bare with me as things will begin to rapidly change now on the site. I'll do what I can tonight, although I don't have long. Once the forum/site is in working order, you can expect to seen the first official publish of ServUO the emulator.

If you notice any issues, please let me know so I can fix them as I'm working on everything.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have added Tapatalk to the forum. I find it very helpful when browsing a forum from a mobile device, which is why I added it. You can use Tapatalk from Android and iOS.

Also fixed forum permissions so everyone should be able to post in the New Join section and other sections. If you still experience issues such as this, be sure to let me know so I can fix it. Phpbb is a pain to use and setup permissions properly, so I'm not even sure I have it setup correctly even now.

That's all for now, expect more updates here soon.
Hello everyone, and welcome to ServUO. The new home for what was known as the ForkUO project, among other various community projects and related content. ServUO aims to be an open and un-biased community for Ultima Online fans and developers. While there isn't much yet, things will begin to take shape over the next month or so, as I'm currently in the process of moving.

Currently the site/forum is setup with phpbb (sorry) although I aim to purchase a copy of XenForo next week and upgrade to it! So expect some downtime this coming Friday. If you'd like to donate to the funds to purchase an XenForo license, you may do so by using this link.

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?c ... W8U383Q8J2

Currently the funds are at: $65
Needed funds: $110 (XenForo is going on sale next week! :D )

If the funds don't reach the goal, then I will be covering the difference. As I feel XenForo is needed in order to build the community here that I believe everyone deserves.

Till then, I will be setting up the forum here using phpbb, as I can easily import the database to XenForo. So in the mean time, you are welcome to register your account and make some posts. The emulator project won't be moved over for a short while, as we are in the process of finalizing some new updates and renaming the project to ServUO to match the new site (ForkUO was always a code name anyways, I was too lazy to come up with a proper name at the time.)

So welcome to ServUO! Hope you can find your way around and have a good time. If you have any questions, don't be scared to ask.
