I use DevArt's Code Compare which is fairly decent (has a 30 day trial for structured code comparison and a few other features unfortunately). I hear BeyondCompare is good too, but haven't used that one
What files? Is it from wildly different server versions?
I use Notepad++ (compare) on windows and nano (opened in tabs via byobu) in linux console. If you have an x server or something going meld is cool.

I'd say yes. From old runuo to new servuo. Thought I had it. Nope. It laughed and gave me the middle finger =)
