So I have removed insurance from my server and since it is not being used I decided to use the item insurance as a Siege Bless option since my shard is a siege perilous type. So here is where I am at currently, I have the context menu that says Siege Bless

BUT the things I cant nail down are :
1) How can I make it bless the item instead of insure it
2) Only one item per player can be blessed so how can I limit the amount of items they can bless/insure

I'll start with the harder part first, please note, I'm not going to cover serialization. I would start by creating a static (there can be only one) dictionary (System.Collections.Generic, dictionary is a set of Key Value Pairs) with the key as the player mobile and the item that the player has blessed as the value. When they bless the item from your context menu, you first check to see if the player is in the keys of the dictionary. If not then you can add the item to the dictionary with the player as the key. If they are then you have choices here. if the targeted item is the same as the item saved in the value of the dictionary you could unbless the previous item, if it's not the same as the one already in the dictionary you can have the player unbless it or you could simply do it for them, and set the new item to be blessed.

My skill level is novice at best. I can read and decipher mostly what the code is roughly saying, I know nothing of serialization or grammar in C for that matter. I added these things in PlayerMobile.cs where I thought they might go and was able to compile once but it didn't do anything. I know it's my lack of understanding on what you are telling me to do. The only thing I still can't do is make a check for only one item at a time per player is blessed. I also think it needs to be serialized because it needs to differentiate between items that are "Siege Blessed" and regular blessed. As of right now it will unbess anything that is blessed because it thinks its been "Siege Blessed"

Serialize is about saving, no it don't need to be done in order to work, it just won't remember after save.

Yes I am implying more code is needed.

I'm going to try this without going over your code as it seems you're starting to get the hang of it.

When, in your code, it's time to bless an item, you want to add the playermobile and the item to the dictionary, sorry for not giving an example of that one.

well the error says that there is already from defined and that m on the other hand doesnt exist.
maybe you wanted to do it the other way around.
And you would place this where you need it
 
well that should at least not throw an error, and since from is defined and is probably in the parameters as a mobile then yes. And m would be either a playermobile or null

I have not removed anything recently, there are other edits such as Ultima Live in this playermobile.cs and so that's why I decided to attach the whole script because I felt there might be issues elsewhere. I am a "neophite" at best with this stuff lol, when I applied your recommended code structure I got this error.

Also I am not even sure if you would need the playermobile check in there at all unless you want to extend it.
 
I am working off of what Talow above recommended to me. I am only working on playermobile.cs. I am trying to emulate the Siege bless from siege perilous so all I need to accomplish is a check of some kind to only allow a player to have one siege blessed item at a time. If there is an easier way to accomplish this I am all for it. LOL Right now this is the working section I am using

It lets me from the context menu bless and unbless items but thats it. It needs to be able to
A) Check to see if the player already has siege blessed an item and if so not let them bless another item until the previous one is unblessed
B) not allow you to unbless items that are not siege blessed by you like spellbooks, runebooks and newbied items etc

Previously you said you got it to work without any checks, however after looking over the code I'm not seeing the section you changed to set the targeted item to blessed true/false. Can you give us that code? I Won't be able to check until tomorrow morning, but I'll try to give you better direction once I see where you're doing the actual work to the item.

Read the script and found where you are doing your work, most of it is dealing with the ToggleItemInsurance_Callback. We'll focus our work around this.

The first thing we want is our static Dictionary that will store the information we need, player mobile, and the blessed item. We'll do this right before the above method gets defined...
We are also going to give easy access to the needed entry in the list to the method, We'll be using the FirstOrDefault to do it, which gives us the wanted entry or null, so we can see easy if they are in the list. We'll then target the blessed item from the entry if the entry was not null.

Now the rub with this is if the server is restarted the Dictionary will not be saved and the player will have more blessed items, but that's a matter of saving the dictionary values to a file and loading them again.

Ok definitely making progress. :D The code now compiles and the good news is... it now will not unbless spellbooks, mounts etc. The bad news is that two things are happening at this point.
A) you cannot UNBLESS anything. Even if it was the object you siege blessed to begin with.
B) If you try to Siege Bless a second object the server crashes.

No thats not a core error, it just doesnt check if the key already exists befor adding it. Therefor it throws "hey its already there! that should not happen! error!"

Not sure about why the remove didnt work properly

Actually it seems like the key doesn't exist when it crashes. It doesn't crash if I try to bless an alresdy blessed object. It crashes if I have something Siege Blessed and try to bless a new "Unblessed" object.

Well I found it funny, hope you will too. I Simply forgot an exclamation point, which in C# means not...

That's what we told it for setting blessed item which translates to if we have a key of our playermobile in the dictionary we set blesseditem to null, if we don't have a key we set it to the value in the dictionary (default would be null). So either way we get null....

by adding the ! infront of the PlayerBlessedItems...

Thank you so much for your patience and sharing your knowledge with me about this. You really know your stuff sir! :D The exclamation did fix that issue lol. I have 2 last questions:
1) In the unlikely event the blessed item gets deleted...by corrupt save etc. the game does not know that it is gone so you cannot bless anything ever again. How would I get around this. Could we write a check that makes the item unlessed upon either deletion or if the player trades it or drops it on the ground?

2) I know you said you were not going over serialization but now that we have come this far how difficult would it be to serialize so that the server remembers the keys etc upon save/restart?
 
1) As it stands currently simply restarting would cause the list to refresh.
We can add a check, so when the method is called, after we define the blesseditem variable, check if the item has been deleted and the dictionary contains the key. If that's the case simply remove the entry from the dictionary before the rest of the work gets fired.

2) Since we set this up with a static dictionary it would require a hook into the save/load functions on save write out the variables to a file, on load if file exists, fill up the dictionary from the file.
