    Ok the problem was with the declaration of the variable "result" in the factorial function: declaring it as an int caused an overflow that made those crazy negative numbers appear.     Thanks for your help. You are right, i should have probably written it as a=]0,1[ or whatever it was the way to say 0,1 excluded, in fact when a is <0 or >1 the function is not even called becase it is assumed to be automatic failure/success.
