ServUO irc chat is public and open for all the vistors of the ServUO website.

You can connect to the ServUO irc chat a couple different ways. The quickest is to use the website chat which you can find at the top of the page by click Chat. Another method is to download an irc client and connect to the irc network and server that way.
---

Once you are connected to the irc network and server or by using webchat(typing in your nickname and hitting start...) you can now chat!

With the web chat you can simply left click the chat and hit enter to begin typing to the chat. If you want to send a personal message to someone you can left click their name and click message.

If you plan to return and use the chat on a regular basis I recommend registering your nickname. That way no one can attempt to impersonate you on chat. You can do so by typing /msg NickServ REGISTER <password> <email> (without <>) Use an real email that you can access.
After you've registered your nickname, every time you join the irc chat you'll need to type /Identify <password> (without <>) to tell the server you really are that nickname. If you wait too long it will change your nickname and you'll have to wait for your registered nickname to timeout (~60 seconds) then you can type /nick <nickname> (without <>) and attempt to identify yourself again.

Remember to use chat responsibly and maturely it's a privilege not a right. Chat is at most pg-13 and is moderated.

If you're attempting to use the irc chat for script support please do NOT post code into the chat. Either post the code in script support and link the url with as much detail as you can or post the code to a website such as pastebin and post that url with as much detail as possible. I'd like to note that irc chat is not solely meant for script support as it caters to all things relating to servuo.

The Generous individual(s) who host our ServUO irc channel & network now have a channel setup for a game called IdleRPG.

Description of IdleRPG:
The Idle RPG is just what it sounds like: an RPG in which the players idle. In addition to merely gaining levels, players can find items and battle other players. However, this is all done for you; you just idle. There are no set classes; you can name your character anything you like, and have its class be anything you like, as well.

For those interested you can find more information here: http://idle.panicirc.net/index.php
There you can find how to register your character along with more information relating to the channel and the game.

Once you're connected to the PanicIRC server you can type /join #IdleRPG to join the IdleRPG game channel. If you're using the webchat it automatically connects you to the PanicIRC server so all you have to do is enter the join command.

Remember this is all in good fun and I hope to see more members of the community embracing the #ServUO channel. It's there for our convenience in communicating quickly and adressing UO related topics whether it be official or private.

Special thanks to: DrRen & Shnawly!
