Britain Knights is a project I started a few years ago...that seeks to be a single or multiplayer roleplaying adventure game in the Ultima universe. It uses the Ultima V map as the world...and the thematic setting of it would be around 1997 Ultima Online, where the overall game was in a much simpler state than what we see today. Unlike Ruins & Riches...this is meant to be a less condensed and complicated game. Back when there was only leather and iron...and weapons were supremely accurate, or armor was indestructible. But unlike the 1997 design, I kept some more "modern" interface features...like hovering over objects instead of having to single click everything. I also kept the newer house management system...and also the modern interface for the crafting portion.
My plan is to release the entire project when it is completed. I currently am working on dungeons...decorating and spawning, and I have to finish up the general quest system. I had a development blog going on for awhile...but...I moved it over to Discord since that seems more fluid to manage. So if you feel like keeping in touch on my progress, feel free to do so. My design principal is similar to Ruins & Riches, where in 1997...there was vague descriptions of the weapons and armor you find. The monsters are simplistic in design. There are no abundance of attributes on items and creatures. So if you grew up playing games like Wizardry on the Apple ][, you may enjoy this game when it is released. If you are one that chases the meta...then this game is not that for sure. Development will continue slowly during these nicer months...but does pick up in the Fall. I am almost done with my personal Ruins & Riches Redux so there will more progress on this soon.
