Custom map question

Hello i made a custom map, pretty unique, if players join my server, can they "steal" me that map ?

If im not wrong in order to make ppl play my server i have to share my map files...

On minecraft there was a mod to download maps from servers.

yes they can steal it as you have to provide them the Map file.
