Modified map and content

I had a thought I was hoping someone could anserw. When I adjust something, remove or add via say for example Centered. The player will always need the copy of the files that are modified right? I know this was the case a couple of years ago, Im curious if someone managed to circumvent this somehow.

Im talking minor edits, nothing huge. But still removing items on the map.

In simple terms...yes...clients will need the new files.

Most modders now just release their own custom client for their shards because more and more and changing things.
