Hi Everyone,

Myself and a long time friend Coprolite are developing a new custom shard. More on that later.

We developed a utility for ourselves to let us turn any customized in game item into a .cs file in our server files without needing to code anything.

  1. Make your item in game.
  2. Input the command: [GenerateScriptsFromItems and be prompted to target a container.
  3. Target the container containing your Schmancy new item.

    • Success will display a message like so: Generated 1 Class File in C:\ServUO\CsvGenScripts\Items.
    • You can change the path in the General.cfg file included in the zip in the Config folder.
  4. Rebuild your server scripts via restart or command, however you do it on your own shard.

About us, our vision and our goal for our shard.

I first played UO on the Great Lakes shard as a teenager shortly after Dread Lords stopped being a thing, 1997 or 1998. My memory of that time is not great on dates. I stopped, as many did, not long after the Renaissance patch. Other games were out that were interesting like Asheron's Call, where I met Coprolite. My partner in crime on this project.

Having played a ton of free shards since being on Great Lakes, something was always missing for me. I've played UO Evolution, Outlands, UO Forever, UO Alive, and quite a few others. Each one, honestly, was awesome and I generally had a great time. But, it wasn't what I personally wanted. I wanted to make a version my own.

Our core goals are to create an expansive shard that offers both a balanced PvP & PK system while still offering a huge amount of PVM and PVE options.

We are in process of developing an entirely custom map, in addition to keeping the old world alive and kicking. Our development focus will very much be in favor of designing completely new custom content for the new Facet but, we have plans for old content as well.

In no particular order, here is a small portion of things we already have up and running as well as a few of the many in-development items. I could probably make this take several hours to read so I will intentionally cut myself short.
  • Revamped taming w/ custom leveling system.
    • Take your pet on a journey from level 1 to 100 and watch it grow into a PVM powerhouse.
    • Many updates to the tamable creatures available across the facets.
  • Many skills re-worked, re-imagined and updated. Too many changes already to list in a "short" post.
  • Custom Crafting
    • New Custom Resources
    • Crafting XP System for unlocking new and powerful crafting plans and recipes.
    • Equipment stat bonuses for Characters with Crafting skills that wear their own items.
    • Full socketing system with custom socketable items.
    • Runic Crafting Expanded
    • Weapon and Bard Instrument leveling system.
  • Revamped dungeons on all Facets except Trammel.
  • All facets not named Trammel are PVP enabled.
  • New Player system that makes skilling up easy and (besides crafting skills) totally free in our custom training facility.
    • Repeatable daily mini-powerscroll quests that reward 1-3 cap points in a chosen skill for people who aren't yet or don't want to run champ spawns.
  • Expanding on some existing systems like BODs, Clean Up Britannia, etc.
  • Tons of new quests for new players, long term chase item goals, etc.
  • Tons of new housing areas, raffles for unique locations. New facet will be open to housing outside of restricted areas.
  • Entirely custom new Facet called Jarada.
    • Map is the size of Felucca.
    • Two massive warring islands, Adajar and Jarada. One populated by elves, the other by humans.
    • Multiple large neutral islands in between the two large continents.
    • 100% custom map w/ all new dungeons, overworld spawns, new types of vendors, large quest hubs, instanced dungeon spawners, new champion spawns and a lot more.
  • Re-imagined thief system.
    • New ways to be a thief. Town NPCS that have lives and utilize a lot of the empty houses around cities, with loot to steal.
    • Many more dungeon stealables, open world stealables, expanded mob stealing rewards.
Long Term Goals
  • ERA specific instanced PVP events. Think Pre-T2A PvP tournaments, deathmatch, node-control, etc. In whatever ERA we want for each.
  • Completely revamped dungeon chest system, using the Outlands system as inspiration. They really did a good job with that, among a lot of other things.

We are in no way close to releasing this, we've been at this for a few months.

We will be looking for some play testers in the near future. I will post about it when we are getting to that stage.
