Is the diversity of the number of slots required for this animal - was the consequence of the introduction of a pet training system?

You can actually, very rare, get a 2 slot one on real UO, which is better because you can train them up more.

This is all a part of the pet revamp. They used to be 4 slots. You can change it on your own for now but it won't be changed in the repo right now.
