Why Server Restart

Hello Everyone,

Sorry if this is a silly question but I've seen many shards restart once per day. There are also many tools to help with this and make it easier and i just don't understand why. Memory usage is never that high and I usually restart manually anyway to add new features and updates.

Could someone enlighten me please ?

I could be wrong wrong but i think if you use the add-on generator a restart is required to add new items.
 
We restart to add new items and occasionaly just to refresh the shard (about 3 times a week) to check for bad spawns and things of that sort

I only ever restart mine for updates. I think the main purpose of daily restarts is for that old server down fight time at Brit Graveyard :)
